Emma McEvoy began dancing 15 years ago at Rothesay Ballet School under the tutelage of Sylvia Logan. In this time, she has successfully accomplished Royal Academy of Dance examinations at both Graded and Vocational levels. Emma also dances with the Gala Ballet Company and Gala Contempera and through this she has performed at many special events in Saint John and the surrounding areas. She has been a part of many productions with both companies including Paquita, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Gala's annual production of The Nutcracker. Emma has also trained with professionals from such companies as the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Emma began training in the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies program with the Royal Academy of Dance in January 2014. She successfully completed the program in December 2015. Emma now holds Registered Teaching status with the Royal Academy of Dance.
Emma is currently training in Ballet at an Advanced II level with the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, as well as taking classes in Advanced Pointe, Senior Jazz, Advanced Contemporary, and Senior Tap. In May 2015, Emma graduated from the University of New Brunswick in Saint John receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in Information and Communication Studies and English. In September 2015, Emma began an online program with Duke University to earn a certificate in Digital Media an Marketing.
At this time, Emma teaches First Position to Grade 6 ballet and Intermediate Foundation at the Vocational level. She also assists Marcia Dysart with Contemporary classes.
